Usually, i find american dubs for videogames (such as MGS, Kingdom Hearts, Disgaea) are better than animes. And i'd pretty much agree with your statement there Xel.

A good translation will supply jokes in the destination language when they find some in the source? language that cannot be translated.

IRT Xel: Dubs don't bother me as long as they're good. So most dubs do bother me.

I'm the same.

Spanish dubs in games have been terrible; only a few games (like FarCry) got decent dubbing. They were always good in anime (I think better than English are), but I still like the Japanese voices better, esp. in animes like Chobits, where no Spanish female will have such a cute, high-pitched voice as Chii, and no Spanish male will be as... spirited as Hideki.

It was easier to watch Chobits in english for me, but I have heard the japanese voices too, and yeah, it's better.

Yeah, that's normally the case for most animes and games which originally came from another country such as Japan.

The best ever anime that I've watched, that had rally good english dubbing, was probably "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust".

However, in the case of "Beck", it also sounds really wierd when japanese people try to speak english. Although credit must be given for their attempts (and some characters were good), most attempted english speakers sounded strange and unnatural. But of course, this is to be expected since they're trying to speak a language which contrasts to their native language, thus is far more tolerable (and respectable).

Man, i just spent half an hour watching this thing. Only the first 10 or 15 min are worth watching though.
